Hygrothermal Analysis

At Sandberg we have a dedicated multidisciplinary team specialised in hygrothermal software analysis. The analysis is used to assess the condensation risk of proposed designs and to investigate damage caused by condensation on existing structures.

Specialist areas of hygrothermal analysis expertise include:

  • Thermal assessment of curtain wall and window systems (U-value calculations)
  • Thermal assessment of wall assemblies (U-value calculations)
  • Surface and interstitial condensation risk analysis (static – Glaser method – and dynamic hygrothermal modelling)

Metallurgy Consultant

Simon Clarke is a metallurgical consultant with over 30 years of experience covering materials and component investigations both in the UK and internationally, including Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Australia.

Specialist areas of metallurgy consultant expertise include:

  • Specification, selection, testing, interpretation and failure investigations. Much of the investigation work is for some form of dispute resolution or litigation for both civil and criminal cases, including cases for the High Court and Old Bailey

Water Ingress and Condensation

Bob Easthope has been investigating water and moisture related damage to materials and structures for over 30 years. He leads our multidisciplinary team specialised in identifying the actual causes of the damage, including design and construction defects, failure/decay of roof and facade systems, rising damp, thermal bridging.

Specialist areas of water ingress and condensation expertise include:

  • Inspections and intrusive investigations
  • Moisture detection (electric testing, dye testing, moisture mapping, thermography)

  • Moisture content analysis (BRE Digest 245)
