ISO 3834 describes the requirements for a factory control system aimed specifically at fabricators. Compliance with it is a mandatory requirement in a number of standards and specifications, e.g., BS EN 1090-2 and the National Structural Steelwork Specification.
From the 7th Edition of the National Structural Steelwork Specification, it becomes a mandatory requirement for a fabricator to have a BS EN ISO 3834 certificate provided by a UKAS accredited body.
NOTE: Fabricators who do not hold a BS EN ISO 3834 certificate cannot comply with the National Structural Steelwork Specification.
