Sandberg can provide the expertise to assist the structural/civil engineer or fabricator in the development and interpretation of specifications typically BS EN 1090-2, the Specification for Highways Works (e.g., Series 1700, 1800, 1900, 5000, etc.), the Network Rail specification (NR/L2/CIV/140) and the National Structural Steelwork Specification (NSSS). Sandberg engineers assisted with the preparation of many of these standards and specifications.
Fabrication, Welding and Inspection
An experienced engineering and inspection team is available to assist clients and fabricators in any aspect of materials, fabrication, welding, inspection and testing (destructive and non-destructive).
Our ‘quality monitoring’ service includes fabricator assessments, document reviews, technical advice, pre-fabrication meetings, fabrication reviews/audits, inspection and testing services. Welding Procedure and Welder Qualification
Sandberg provides a full consultancy and certification service for weld procedure qualification records (WPQR) and welder qualification testing (WQT). The service can provide the full package from provision of a preliminary weld procedure specification (pWPS) through witnessing, inspection, testing, documentation and certification.
Protective Treatment
Sandberg undertakes failure investigations and, in conjunction with our laboratories, can provide solutions to problems associated with coatings.
In addition, we provide assistance with the development of specifications to suit the contract requirements.
Quality Plans
Quality plans and inspection and test plans (ITP) can be drawn up or reviewed by experienced staff that are able to give advice and assistance to both the client and the fabricator.
