Sandberg is recruiting for a vacancy in our Building Inspection and Investigation department, one of our most versatile and wide-ranging departments.
The Role
Based in Clapham, the BIID team undertakes a broad range of work from routine concrete and structural investigations, cladding facade inspections to load testing and many other projects. Our projects vary from small, single day inspections to involved investigations lasting several months. As a result, this role provides excellent opportunities for developing a wide range of skills and experience.
This is an ideal role for someone looking to build on existing construction knowledge and to develop their knowledge and experience. The core aspects of the work will be:
- On-site building inspection
- On-site testing
- Façade inspection surveys
- Technical reporting of site findings
- Taking of samples (such as cores) for lab testing
This is a full-time permanent position based at our laboratories in Clapham, London but with a significant proportion of the site-based work around London and beyond. Though this will normally be a Monday to Friday role, there will be occasional work at nights and weekends at overtime rates.
The Person
This successful candidate will be developed and trained in the testing and inspection that we undertake, but some initial grounding in construction is important.
Essential
- Relevant experience in inspection/construction
- Hands-on approach
- Computer literate (Word, Excel)
- Driving license valid for UK
- Good standard of English for written and verbal communication
Desirable
- CSCS card
- HNC/HND or better in a related discipline
