Abseil Inspection

Abseil inspection
Stonework inspection – two abseil inspectors looking for the presence of ferrous metal fixings

Historically the cost of providing access formed a disproportionate part of the total cost of many inspection and minor repair operations. The introduction of the industrial rope techniques (abseiling) leaves few surfaces which cannot be quickly and cheaply accessed for inspection, testing and maintenance purposes.

  • Routine condition assessments
  • Sampling and in-situ testing
  • Minor repairs
  • Failure investigations
  • Leak testing/location and repair
  • External ‘hands-on’ inspections

At Sandberg, rope access is conducted exclusively by Engineers and Inspectors who have been formally trained in industrial rope access techniques.

Participation in design, quality control, mock-up and on-site testing, as well as inspection, has given our team broad experience in all aspects of cladding. This experience enables our team to appreciate fully the significance of any observations.

Brick sampling using abseil access
Removing brick samples to be tested for compressive strength
Ferroscan using abseil access
Reinforcement survey being carried out on a pre-cast concrete panel faced with brick slips
Glass inspection using abseil access
Cladding expert carrying out an inspection on a glass curtain wall
