Simon is a well-respected Engineer with some 28 years service with the Partnership. During this time Simon has gained a wealth of experience within the Metallurgy Department, both in the laboratories and on-site.
He has particular expertise and experience in developing and conducting various load testing activities, which involve the selection and application of both destructive and non-destructive techniques for steel and concrete structures. More recently his testing activities have extended to cover performance assessment of glass components for cladding/curtain wall and barrier systems.
As Assistant Projects Manager for the Metallurgy Department, Simon has been developing the testing of scaffold access and false-work systems as well as individual scaffold component testing. The laboratory facilities now include a full range of UKAS accredited tests for the verification of a wide range of scaffold components in accordance with the current EN74 series of standards. In 2003 Simon was elected as a Co-opted member of the British Standards Institute committee: B/514/21 “Access and Working Scaffolds and subcommittee: B/514/28 “Props, tubes and Couplers”
