Connor is a Chartered Geologist who joined Sandberg in 2017. He specialises in the testing and investigation of natural geological materials as well as artificial products.
Specific areas of expertise include:
- Petrographic analysis of natural materials, including building stone and aggregates
- Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray microanalysis
- Bespoke staining and deterioration investigations
- Source matching of historic stone
Connor is also responsible for quality assurance aspects of the Geology and Geomaterials Departments.
He is a member of The Geological Society’s Applied Petrography Group, which develops and improves methods for examining geomaterials and the Stone Federation’s Interiors and Surface Materials Focus Group.
