Whilst many of our staff are working from home during these unprecedented times, all our activities remain open for business in line with government guidelines. We have adjusted our operations so that staff remain safe. Currently, although we are working at a reduced capacity, we are meeting client demands and are welcoming new enquiries.
Condensation is one of the view visual indicators of poor performance. If condensation occurs on a regular basis then this may give rise to mould growth, which is a potential health hazard. Regular condensation, and condensation inside the building envelope (interstitial condensation) can also lead to damage to materials and possible corrosion of structural elements.
Condensation risk and mould growth can be assessed in accordance with:
- BS 5250 Code of practice for control of condensation in buildings
- BS EN ISO 13788 Hygrothermal performance of building components and building elements - Internal surface temperature to avoid critical surface humidity and interstitial condensation - Calculation methods
- CWCT Standard for specifying and assessing for condensation risk
- CWCT Guide to good practice for assessing heat transfer and condensation risk for a curtain wall
and in accordance with any other standard or guide requiring either hand calculation or computer simulation.
Sandberg can also advise on the selection of condensation-resistant materials and the use of proper venting or ventilation to avoid interstitial condensation problems.
