Electromagnetic (EM) Surveys

Geonics EM38 conductivity meter Based on the principles of inductive electromagnetics, and with no requirement for soil-to-instrument contact, EM surveys offer a rapid survey technique. The instruments have a response that is comparable to that of resistance meters (conductivity is the inverse of resistance) however, unlike resistance meters, EM meters respond strongly to metal.

Leak and Defect Location, Bridge Decks and Roofs

Defect in roof membrane Locating leaks in waterproofing is notoriously difficult. Sandberg has two techniques which can be used to pinpoint defects in sheet or liquid based membranes. Leaks can be located by tracing electrical paths through the waterproof layer using low voltage equipment.
