Sandberg is probably historically best known for its On-site Laboratories and testing services. The name ‘Sandberg’ is to site laboratories as the name ‘Hoover’ is to vacuum cleaners!

We have operated over 800 site laboratories throughout the world ranging from UK motorways to oil related projects in Kazakhstan. Clients range from project owners, developers, contractors, councils through to consulting engineers.

We are able to supply experienced site based Engineers, Technicians, equipment and site laboratory facilities, working to the highest standards, both nationally and internationally. All our site laboratories operate full UKAS Accreditation where required and are backed up by our Central Laboratories based in London.

Our site laboratory scope includes all testing and inspection requirements for routine construction materials:- aggregates, bituminous materials, concretes, soils and pavement investigations.

Major contracts involving dedicated site Laboratories:

UK: Nationwide Motorway, Major Trunk Roads and Civil Engineering Projects including the Eden Project and Canary Wharf.

Channel Tunnel Rail Link: Contracts including Stratford Box and associated works and tunnels, Kings Cross and St Pancras Station including Viaducts, Tunnels and Station Refurbishments totalling over £900million.

Republic of Kazakhstan: Oil and Gas Projects, Civil and Pipelines.

Republic of Ireland: Major Motorway, Trunk Roads and Civil Engineering Projects.
