Stone Federation of Great Britain - New President

Sandberg partner, David Ellis, was elected president of the Stone Federation of Great Britain (SFGB) at the AGM on 25 November 2010.

In his first speech as president David outlined the aims and objectives he wished to focus on over his two years in office. He stated his intention to drive forward the SFGB Hallmarque Scheme and use it as a benchmark to raise standards in many areas of the stone industry with particular emphasis on membership criteria, ethical sourcing and sustainability.

In the evening, David welcomed the Duke of Gloucester, the Master of the Worshipful Company of Stonemasons and other distinguished guests to the AGM Gala dinner where His Royal Highness presented the inaugural Duke of Gloucester Gold Medal.

On 26 November David gave the opening speech to the Natural Stone Awards 2010 held at Lords cricket ground and assisted Bill Beaumont in the presentation of awards.
