Many environmental issues are entwined with testing. Our chemists have assisted in such issues as categorisation of contaminated land, water analysis and gas monitoring.

With the aid of thermographic camera, the production of methane around old landfill sites can be measured and flammable gases can be detected with extremely sensitive gas monitors. Thermography has other environmental uses; most obviously in detecting unwanted heat loss and heat pollution.
