Simon is a well respected Engineer with some 28 years service with the Partnership. During this time Simon has gained a wealth of experience within the Metallurgy Department, both in the laboratories and on-site.

He has particular expertise and experience in developing and conducting various load testing activities, which involve the selection and application of both destructive and non destructive techniques for steel and concrete structures. More recently his testing activities have extended to cover performance assessment of glass components for cladding/curtain wall and barrier systems.

As Assistant Projects Manager for the Metallurgy Department, Simon has been developing the testing of scaffold access and false-work systems as well as individual scaffold component testing. The laboratory facilities now include a full range of UKAS accredited tests for the verification of a wide range of scaffold components in accordance with the current EN74 series of standards. In 2003 Simon was elected as a Co-opted member of the British Standards Institute committee : B/514/21 “Access and Working Scaffolds and sub committee: B/514/28 “Props, tubes and Couplers”.
