Since joining Sandberg has gained experience in a broad range of inspection and QA skills including concrete (in-situ and precast), structural steelwork (including MPI and dye penetrant weld inspection), structural bearing inspection and testing of pot, elastomeric, spherical and roller bearings and Quality Assurance implementation. In particular Ian has considerable experience in the manufacture and use of precast concrete tunnel lining segments having been heavily involved in a number of major London Underground and Docklands Light Railway contracts.

Most recently, Ian has been seconded to Canary Wharf Contractors Limited as their Quality Manager Concrete, controlling the quality of all concrete provided to Canary Wharf, totalling almost 500,000m? per year of concrete placed. In addition, Ian was controlling the sealing of the marine basements against water ingress and therefore has experience in the secondary sealing of piles, raft slabs diaphragm walls, etc.
