Glass and Glazing

Sandberg have considerable experience in the evaluation of the quality and use of glass. These services include but are not necessarily limited to:-

Float Glass

Review of production, handling and installation. Advice as to the potential risks associated with the types of installation.

Laminated Glass

Review of production and manufacturing processes for cast resin or PVB interlayer types of laminated glass. Advice as to acceptable quality.

Toughened Glass

Review of production and manufacturing. Advice as to risk of nickel sulphide inclusions and the possible ways to reduce risk of spontaneous failure.

Curved Glass

Review of production of curved glass for specialist projects including S shaped toughened glass and glass curved in both planes and fabricated into double glazing units.

Sandberg staff are involved in numerous projects where glazing is a significant proportion of the project. We are responsible for reviews of the specification, construction details and installation of the glass. Additionally we have been involved in numerous investigations into the failure of glass and glazing systems. This considerable experience enables us to provide our clients with the best possible advice to achieve the highest standards of visual and technical performance on their particular project.
