Damage of sandstone due to salt action
Damage of sandstone due to salt action

Expertise is offered by the Sandberg Consultancy Department to inspect, investigate and advise on remediation techniques to restore natural stone both externally and internally on structures.

UKAS accredited testing is performed in-house to National and International Standards.

In-service failures of stone are not uncommon due to inherent natural characteristics, poor production methods or the fact that the material is unsuitable for its intended purpose. Typical failures, whilst not necessarily structurally damaging, can cause unsightly appearance or lead to personal injury. Examples include differential porosity/absorption, staining, high wear/abrasion of flooring, reduction in slip resistance and step edge failures.
