In 1860, Christer Peter Sandberg arrived in London from Stockholm. On behalf of the Swedish State Railways, he was inspecting rails manufactured in England for use in Sweden. Christer Peter set up his materials consultancy practice in London. His great grandson Neil Sandberg is the present Managing Partner. The firm's head office is situated at 40 Grosvenor Gardens, London, SW1, where it has been since 1919. Laboratories are based in London at Victoria and Clapham. These sites operate UKAS accredited testing laboratories No. 0262. Sandberg also holds Quality Management accreditation to BS EN ISO 9001.
Sandberg comprises three co-ordinated areas of activities:
- Consultancy Services
- Site Services
These areas of activity are closely interwoven to provide comprehensive and relevant services to meet individual client's requirements. This collective approach to the client's needs and problems predominates, with each area able to call upon any of the others to help solve a particular problem. In this way our clients can be assured of a comprehensive and thorough service.
Furthermore, within the Sandberg Group are two separate businesses of Geomaterials Research Services and Building Testing.
Geomaterials joined us in 2008 further enhancing our Consulting Services. For more information see www.geomaterials.co.uk
Building Testing Ltd joined us in 2011 adding services such as building air tightness consultancy and the testing and analysis of raised access flooring systems. For more information see www.buildingtesting.co.uk
